Adding animal print pieces to your wardrobe is a fun and chic way to kick a simple look up a notch. That being said this leopard print coat has been a staple in my winter wardrobe for the last two years. The neutral tones of the coat allows it to mesh well with just about anything and the leopard print adds that little something extra. To me adding an animal print is similar to adding a pop of color to an outfit otherwise lacking in color. In my fashion world adding pops of color and animal prints is practically always a chic idea.
For this outfit I doubled the animal print by adding a leopard scarf to my leopard coat, but one of a different color scheme. Since the scarf was in a gray color scheme as opposed to the traditional leopard of the coat I felt the two prints and colors complimented each other. Since the weather was far from warm I added gray finger-less mittens and a neutral pompom beanie to finish off my cold weather accessories.
As much as winter is hardly my favorite season, I do have a love for winter coats and accessories so I enjoyed adding these layers to this look. Underneath the coat I added more layers by pairing a chambray shirt tucked into black pants and added a long gray sweater over it. Since my outfit was mostly neutral and dark colors I decided my deep maroon chelsea ankle booties were the perfect shoes to finish off the look. Another perk of wearing an outfit chock full of understated colors is being able to pose in front of colorful backdrops. I couldn’t resist this nature full of wild flowers, trees, and butterflies.
