In terms of fashion when the weather warms up the layers on outfits shed just like a dog’s fur in the summer heat. As cliche as it may sound the outfits tend to get easier and breezier in the spring and summer months. If layers are involved, they are extremely light. Outfits can be simpler yet so effortlessly chic. Oddly enough while summer is by far my favorite season, in terms of styling my outfits it would not be top on my list.
With the spring season upon us and days of temperatures hitting 80 degrees giving us the taste of summer but then dropping back down, picking my outfits day to day has been increasingly difficult thanks to Mother Nature. But for a beach lover and Belmar native like myself I always want to be near the beach. Whether it’s lying on an oversized towel on the sand in the summer or taking drives down by the beach every chance I get in the off season, I always find myself heading towards the ocean.
So once the weather got a little warmer I traded my faux fur coat for a bomber jacket and my jeans for a denim dress. I found this Free People denim dress on major clearance at Nordstrom Rack a couple months ago and I immediately looked forward to the weather warming up so I could break it out. The white shirt underneath was also a Nordstrom Rack find, but from last summer. One of my favorite details of the top that you can’t appreciate in this outfit is the peace sign hand emoji on the left pocket of the shirt.
Another item I scored on major clearance is this satin blue floral embroidered bomber jacket I found at Forever 21. It was already on clearance and then all clearance was an additional fifty percent off so I scored this bomber for $9.99. I found the rainbow vans on sale in Journey’s at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets last summer and I had to have them. I love the bright colors and pops of color they added to this outfit.
I could not find the exact pieces from this outfit online, but I scoured different sites for similar looks. I rounded up these options in the slider below for all your shopping pleasures.
