Vests have always been a wardrobe staple for me and when I say always I mean all the way back to my days spent in preschool. When I was probably around four years old one of my favorite articles of clothing was this vest I had that was embroidered with various jungle animals. I seriously could not get enough of it and there is photo evidence to prove my case.
Throughout high school, college and still to this day I continue to find myself gravitating towards vests in various lengths, styles and designs. I always find the chicest ones in thrift shops and vintage stores and lo and behold I scored this one at a thrift shop in Philly called Cactus Collective.
I adore it and have styled it over dresses and jumpsuits to take my look to the next level. For this outfit I decided to keep everything else simple. An easy black swing dress and black suede booties were the perfect backdrop if you will for this vest to take center stage.
Since I tossed my hair up in a messy bun, I decided to wear my gold hoop earrings that I found in a local thrift store when I was in high school. Looking back I’m so glad I never parted with them because I’ve been wearing them on repeat lately. Of course the sunshine allowed me to rock my favorite pair of shades. Overall it was an easy, breezy outfit perfect for a casual Friday look and warm weather.
I rounded up some similar styles and my exact booties below for all of your shopping pleasures! How do you style your vintage finds?
