Transitioning to fall fashion

While fall is quickly getting underway, the temperatures may still be seasonably warm depending on where you live. Naturally, this can make choosing an outfit a little tougher. I’m sure most are ready for chunky boots, cozy cardigans and lots of layers, but until the weather cools off transitional dressing will be your best friend. Pair some of your summer looks with fall accessories for warmer days.

I love the look of a skirt or dress with chunky boots and it’s warm enough to not need to bother with stockings, which is a huge plus in my book. Have a somewhat summery dress that you aren’t ready to put away yet? Pair it with chunky combat boots and a denim or moto jacket or throw a lightweight pullover sweater on top of the dress and a pair of over the knee boots. There are plenty of options to extend your summer wardrobe, but still give your look a fall feel. A tank top or short sleeve style sweater is also a great wardrobe piece for this time of year. I loved styling this light blue turtleneck version because it was perfect for a warmer evening, but still felt a bit less summery with the turtleneck detail.

My platform Jadon Dr. Martens are a fan favorite of mine no matter the season, but I will say being a beach girl they did not get any wear this summer and I couldn’t wait to break them back out for fall. Most times when I am styling a girly outfit I make sure to add an edge to it and chunky boots are a great way to achieve that.

What are some fashion pieces you can’t wait to wear this fall?
